Dear Students,
The process of inspecting your laptops begins Monday, May 14. Each day during homeroom advisory period, your teacher will inspect several computers in your advisory group. Yours will be inspected on one of those days. Please be sure to bring your laptop to homeroom advisory each day next week. Here is what your teachers will be checking for. Please make sure you have your laptop as well as everything on this list:
1. A laptop bag with the correct serial number that matches the one on the spreadsheet your teacher will have. You will find this number in the upper right hand corner of your bag's "lid" when it is open.
2. A charger with the SAME serial number that appears on your bag. You will be charged for missing chargers or serial numbers that don't match.
3. A screen that is not visibly cracked when the computer is turned on.
4. No obvious signs of damage.
If your computer is a loaner, please tell your teacher so they can make that note on their spreadsheet.
If you do not have everything in order during next week's checks, your teacher will report the issue to the media center at that time. However, you will be given two weeks to correct the problem before the actual laptop takeup begins after exams. Takeup days are as follows:
SENIORS - Wednesday, May 30 JUNIORS AND SOPHOMORES - Thursday, May 31 FRESHMEN - Friday, June 1.
Fees for missing or damaged parts are as follows: LOST LAPTOP: $500 CHARGER: $35 BAG: $30 BAG STRAP: $15 DAMAGED KEYBOARD: $95 Other damage fees can be found in the laptop handbook that you were given at registration on page 13.
If you have additional questions, please see your grade level administrator or stop by the library.
We hope your last few weeks of school are enjoyable ones. Good luck with exams and have a great summer!
Sincerely, The AHS Media Center
